Castile soaps were first made in the Castile region of Spain in the 1600s. Castile soap is a very mild, extra gentle soap made with olive oil that is wonderful for sensitive skin. Makes a great first soap for babies!
Castile soaps do not produce large bubble lather but more of a creamy
lather. A true castile will have a somewhat slimy feel. That is just the
abundance of naturally occurring glycerin in the soap. Glycerin is humectant
that will draw moisture to the skin. Once the soap is allowed to dry out
between uses it will go back to a nice hard bar.
Try it as a shave bar!
As with all of my soaps I recommend you use a bath pouf to get the most
lather and add to the longevity of the soap
