Before I started making soap, I had to watch my dog Rudy suffer
with bad seasonal allergies without any relief from expensive "dog
allergy" shampoos. After some research, I set out to develop a
shampoo that would calm his skin and help with the biting and
scratching of his paws and hind legs.
Only the best ingredients are used to help combat his allergy
issues. Oatmeal is added to the soap to calm the skin as well as
citronella to help repel pests. My combination of conditioning oils,
essential oils and skin soothing ingredients have helped with his
skin irritation as well as make him smell like a handsome boy!
My other precious doggie is Opal. Opal is a German Shepard mix
and has very thick fur. The lather from the doggie bar can
penetrate deep to her undercoat of fur. Additionally, the glycerine
helps to maintain a shiny coat.
I use a plastic bath pouf to create lather and suds up the dogs. It's
a great way to save money and I feel better knowing that I'm
washing my dogs with a safe product!
Do not use on cats. Some essential oils are absorbed into their skin and cannot be metabolized the way dog or humans can.
